The Division of Continuing and Global Education invites faculty to submit course proposals for the 2024 Winter Intersession. Instruction begins on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and ends on Friday, Jan. 12. Monday, Jan. 1 is a holiday, leaving 13 days of instruction. Please schedule all instruction and exams within the session. Classes should have 15 contact hours per unit of instruction, equivalent to regular semester classes. Session grades are due on Jan. 17.
All course proposals will be routed through AdobeSign and require the approval of the department chair and dean or associate dean. The deadline to submit a course proposal is Friday, Oct. 13. Some offices may have earlier, internal deadlines. Start an Intersession Course Proposal Form.
CGE will accept proposals for courses at any level (undergraduate or postbaccalaureate). We strongly discourage departments from proposing multiple sections of the same course, as they may compete for enrollment. Please give special consideration to the following areas where there is a significant need for more course sections this year:
- Lower Division GE: A3, C1, C2, D1, D2, F
- Upper Division GE: E, F, IB, IC, ID, M/I
- U.S. and California Government Graduation Requirement
Only one section (up to four units) may be proposed by each faculty member for Winter Intersession. At the direction of the faculty serving on the Writing Competency Subcommittee, UDWR courses must meet for six weeks minimum. To comply, CGE will not accept W courses in Intersession.
There are no minimum enrollment requirements to keep classes on the schedule in Winter Intersession. Each instructor will be contacted to discuss projected pay using actual enrollments under Salary Schedule 2322.
Direct any questions to our Winter Intersession coordinator Deni Dukic at ddukic@csufresno.edu or 559.278.0423.
