Technology Services successfully migrated the campus to Zoom Phone in January, and since then, many colleagues have shared positive and constructive comments. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and used to help improve our services.
Update on the Zoom Phone Nomadic E911 System
Nomadic E911, sometimes called location services, enables emergency responders to receive an accurate location when people call 911 using Zoom Phone.
In February, Technology Services began testing the Zoom Phone Nomadic E911 system to ensure proper functionality and recently finalized the implementation process. Now that Zoom Phone location services are functional, we can remove Avaya phones.
Removing Avaya phones from classrooms and offices
Previously, we communicated the need to keep Avaya phones in all offices and classrooms for emergency purposes, but now we can remove them. See the details below for both classrooms and offices.
- Campus Classrooms: Starting Monday, May 8, we will begin removing Avaya phones in campus classrooms and replacing them with new poly phones on a building-by-building basis. View the current classroom schedule here, also located on our website. Regular updates will be made as we move forward with our work.
- Campus Offices: Retrieving Avaya phones from offices will be done later. A notification will be sent to the campus community once a schedule is complete.
What’s coming up next?
Our team will work on the analog lines, including alarms, e-Phones, elevator phones, and fax lines.
If you are not using a Zoom Phone, please refer to the instructions below for help.
Thank you for helping complete the Zoom Phone project.
