The College of Health and Human Services Telehealth Taskforce will host the Central Valley Telehealth Symposium: Breaking Barriers to Health Care Access. The event will include a discussion on the latest digital technology-related trends and their implications for health care providers and patients within the Central Valley, as well as the best practices for telehealth implementations at different levels of health care facilities and educational institutions. Dr. M. Ganga Hematillake, president and chief medical officer of United Physicians Network, will present a keynote on "Evolution of telehealth, breaking barriers and what the future looks like". Register by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3.
There will also be a panel of community partners and experts and in the field, including:
- Dr. Marina Roytman, president of the Fresno Madera Medical Society and faculty at UCSF Fresno.
- Dr. Joel Brownell, vice president and chief medical information officer at Valley Children's Healthcare.
- Dr. Amit Saini, geriatric medicine specialist at Kaiser Permanente, Fresno Medical Center.
- Joe Prado, assistant director of the Fresno County Department of Public Health.
