Dr. William Dailey (retired gerontology lecturer) and his guide dog, Farley, were honored with a bench on the Fresno State campus on Nov. 22. The bench, located on the south side of the Engineering East building, recognizes Dailey's 15 years of service to the Department of Social Work Education and Department of Public Health. He served on former President John D. Welty's Committee on Disabilities and the Web Support Council, as well as the City of Fresno's Disability Advisory Commission. He received his Master of Public Administration degree from the University in 2000.
Linda Launer (Public Health) was recently inducted into the Muro de Honor by State Center Community College District and Arte Americas Casa de Cultura, which honors the contributions of outstanding members of the Chicano/Latino community within the State Center district. Also, she was recently elected into the Dinuba City Council where she will represent Ward 5.
Dr. Michael Mahoney (Recreation Administration) was invited to serve a one-year term on the 2017 Faculty Advisory Task Force of the International Association of Exhibitions & Events. He also accepted the opportunity to serve on the Editorial Review Board for the European Journal of International Management.
Dr. Miguel Perez and Dr. Helda Pinzon-Perez (Public Health) authored "Complementary, Alternative and Integrative Health: A Multicultural Perspective", which features chapters from Cheryl Hickey (Physical Therapy) and Nursing faculty, Peter Garcia, Cyndi Guerra and Kathleen Rindahl.
