It is with mixed emotions that we share that Lieutenant Jennifer Curwick will be retiring this fall. She has been an integral member of our Fresno State community for over 34 years, serving in a variety of roles including lieutenant, interim chief of police, sergeant, patrol officer, dispatcher and student assistant.
Lt. Curwick has been a steadfast leader since she was promoted to sergeant in April 2005 and to lieutenant in May 2014. Her contributions to the Fresno State police department are immeasurable and include implementing the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) program and authoring the Annual Security Report (Clery) prior to the establishment of a clery director.
She was a member of the Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (CARE) Team and her dedication to community policing and her strong partnerships with local law enforcement agencies have made a lasting impact on our campus and the community. Lt. Curwick is well respected for her commitment to professionalism and excellence in the department, as reflected by her unwavering efforts in the department’s accreditation as awarded by the International Association of College Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) — a prestigious honor earned twice under her guidance.
To honor Lt. Curwick’s long standing career, join us for a retirement celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the Smittcamp Alumni House. Contact Marcy Gatzman at marcyga@csufresno.edu for more information.
We extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Lt. Curwick for her exceptional service and wish her a restful and fulfilling retirement.
