Works Above and Beyond
Monique Bustamante, Facilities Management
Monique provides impeccable service. She and her colleagues make the university's collective administrative, auxiliary and academic efforts appear seamless. Managing facilities and providing an invisible "Disneyland Effect" deserves a resounding high five. These quiet and treasured hands mend, secure, and polish what is needed for daily academic work. Like Monique, they do so during the hours that many are resting to begin the next day. If one lingers around office buildings, labs and lecture rooms, just beyond the close of day, he or she may glimpse Monique. She can be found hard at work, loyal to university standards and kind within her capacity. She works silently as she supports administrative staff, faculty and our students. Monique serves above and beyond the call of her nightly duties. Diligent and fastidious, she gently maintains her work even beside those working beyond close of day. Each day when we enter our buildings, we are deposited into an intentional fresh start. The management of our facilities is an enhancement of our work atmosphere. This mindful act is deliberate kindness, and it deserves recognition. Thank you, Monique, you are seen and valued.
Teira Wilson, Technology Services
Teira consistently goes above and beyond in her work. Most recently, she dedicated significant time and effort to making our Annual Security Report digitally accessible. This important task required incredible attention to detail and persistence, and Teira delivered with excellence. Her hard work ensures that our information is available and inclusive for everyone. Thank you, Teira, for your dedication and commitment — you are truly appreciated.
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Ray Lopez, Facilities Management
Ray was in my office yesterday and fixed the stained ceiling tiles. He did an excellent job and even vacuumed up the debris.
Doug Morazan, Facilities Management
Doug answered the service call to change out several lights in our department office. He cleaned any debris that fell from the lights, and the office looks like a brand-new world! Thank you, Doug, for your friendly demeanor and bringing light back to our workday.
Starbucks
To the Starbucks crew that was working Friday, Aug. 29, at about 10 a.m. Despite the huge crowd of students, you all did amazing this morning. You need to know that you are appreciated, and the campus is fortunate to have you serving up our caffeine addictions every day. Thank you.
