In case you missed it, President Joseph I. Castro announced this year's inaugural winners of the 2020 Staff Recognition Awards over the summer to recognize the exemplary work of the Fresno State staff.
The program launched in January 2020 from a 2018 Bold Idea and after the recommendation of a CAIFE team. It is modeled after the annual Provost's Awards. Nominations were accepted between Jan. 20 and March 20. A six-person review team looked over the nominations and forwarded the top three people in each category to the President's Cabinet for consideration.
The winners are:
Leticia (Lety) Saavedra, Office of the University Registrar — Bulldog Spirit 2020 Award
Christopher Cruz, Technology Services — Spirit of Innovation 2020 Award
Marcee Varela, Division of Research and Graduate Studies — Modeling the Principles of Community 2020 Award
Evangelina Owens, Accounting Services — Lifelong Learner 2020 Award
