Max Tsai, Digital Transformation [DX] and Innovation Officer for Technology Services, was recently interviewed by Educause and shared the unique process behind the development of the Digital Transformation and Innovation Program and how it reflects a shift to DX.

Katie Williamson, coordinator, Professional Development and Wellness, received her purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on Sept. 13. Williamson began training Jiu Jitsu when it was offered as an activity class through the wellness program in September 2017, and continued training after it was no longer offered. She trains at Elite Team Visalia and has competed numerous times around the country over the last two years, earning four gold, three silver and three bronze medals. She plans to compete again in November at the IBJJF Master Worlds tournament in Las Vegas.
Dr. Rosanna Ruiz, lecturer in the Department of Recreation Administration, was selected by the Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education to be part of its 2021-22 Environmental Education Certification Program cohort.
Dr. Jason Whiting, associate professor, Department of Recreation Administration, had his article “It's Wintertime: Head for the Hills” published in California Parks & Recreation Society Magazine.
Dr. Brandon Taylor, assistant professor, Department of Recreation Administration, received the California Park and Recreation Society President's Award for leading conversations on Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion among the California Recreation and Leisure Service Profession. He also presented on the City of Kerman's Parks and Recreation Master plan to its City Council, a two-year project that outlines community needs and strategic recreational development.
Ryan Soares, lecturer, Department of Recreation Administration obtained his Associate Certified Coaching (ACC) accreditation through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) for Executive Coaching.
