Pianist Yekwon Sunwoo performs at 3 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the Music Building's Concert Hall.
A Gold Medalist in the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Sunwoo is the first Korean pianist to receive this honor. He has performed to great acclaim in the new, spectacular Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, as well as in major venues in Brussels, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Madrid, Helsingborg, Beirut, Taipei, and Hong Kong. Noted for his expressiveness and tonal refinement, he will perform works by Strauss/Grainger, Schubert, and Brahms.
