The College of Social Sciences welcomes faculty, staff, students and supporters to a 10-year anniversary celebration and open house of its advising center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26 in McKee Fisk 207.
The center provides comprehensive academic advising, scheduling, degree progress and support for over 3,200 students from its 10 academic departments, and nearly 36,500 students overall since it opened.
Ross Whitton serves as the coordinator for the center’s staff that also includes academic counselors Isamar Alvarado, Jessica McVay, Sonya Peña, Lisa Vang, and Joseph Escoto, its student involvement and success coordinator.
This year, the center also welcomed Lucero Mendoza and Briana Rosales of the START Program Advising Initiative.
