Works Above and Beyond
Victoria Cisneros Soto, University Marketing and Communications
Due to a staff departure, there was a miscommunication regarding a grant we believed had been submitted to MarComm. As a result, we had to submit a last-minute request for MarComm’s help in polishing our proposal. Tori not only stepped in willingly but did so with remarkable dedication. She responded to edits and requests with lightning speed, went out of their way to support us, and ultimately helped save our proposal. I am truly grateful for her professionalism, commitment and generosity. She embodies the best of Fresno State.
Ger Lee, University Registrar
I want to give a huge shout-out to Ger for consistently going above and beyond in supporting our students. She approaches every interaction with a kind and gentle heart, always willing to lend a helping hand with patience and care. Most recently, I asked her to assist a student with an inquiry—and true to form, she went the extra mile. Before even reaching out to the student, she took the initiative to contact Technology Services to ensure she had the most accurate information. Only after confirming the details did she follow up with the students directly, providing them with clear, helpful guidance. Thank you, Ger, for your dedication, compassion, and proactive approach. You make a real difference every day!
Delia Martinez, Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies
Since her hire in January 2025, Delia has provided excellent support to the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and American Indian Studies! As chair, I am especially grateful for how she has worked expeditiously to submit and process our various requests, and for her determination to find answers to her questions as she navigates new processes. Delia is a consummate professional, and Fresno State is lucky that she is part of our team!
Alex Moun, Technology Services, Enterprise Applications
Alex has been incredibly helpful and consistently goes above and beyond in his work. He approaches every task with a polite and professional attitude, while keeping his work highly organized and structured. I am always impressed by how quickly and accurately he completes complex requests. On top of that, he is a true team player who makes collaboration easy and enjoyable.
Gillermina Nunez, Traffic Operations
The Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies is grateful for Gillermina Nunez's swift work to accommodate our late request for a parking link! She was the only person working in the office at the time and was able to get us the link in time for an event that was bringing various community organizations to campus. We look forward to submitting future requests within the requested five working day period.
Ivan Reed, Technology Services
Ivan played a key role in installing and activating a critical program needed by a benefits team member. Despite encountering multiple challenges, his perseverance and commitment ensured the analyst gained system access sooner than expected. I truly appreciate Ivan’s attentiveness, strong work ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile. Thank you, Ivan!
Thank you, Ivan, for your commitment to providing a quick turnaround time for tickets submitted by our office. Ivan was able to grant necessary access to ensure a smooth beginning to Open Enrollment and did this at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday! We are so very appreciative of your hard work and dedication.
University Marketing and Communications
With a recent staff departure, there was a mix-up around a grant we thought had already been submitted to MarComm. That left us scrambling with a last-minute request for help polishing our proposal. Adriana not only jumped in, but did it with such speed, care, and willingness that it honestly saved us. Adriana turned edits around right away and went above and beyond to make sure everything came together. It could and most likely will be the difference in Italian Studies securing $50,000 to enrich the student experience at Fresno State.
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Winston Chan, Technology Services
To keep benefit information accurate, I often run reports and clean-ups that can create errors in PeopleSoft, which cannot be resolved unless I submit a ticket. Luckily for me, more often than not, Winston is assigned the ticket. He doesn’t just handle routine fixes — He also tackles complex challenges, such as resolving dental transmission errors, setting up Open Enrollment events, and even developing a solution that closed more than 39,000 Open Events without requiring me to close each one manually. What stands out most is Winston’s customer service: he communicates clearly, keeps me updated, and always follows through until the issue is resolved. His responsiveness and professionalism make a huge difference, and I’m grateful for the support he provides. Thank you, Winston!
Esmeralda Cruz, Human Resources
I just wanted to send a shout-out to Esmeralda Cruz for being so wonderful! She's always incredibly accommodating and kind, and she recently helped me with my son's fee waiver issue. Esmeralda resolved it in no time! I truly appreciate her proactive approach and the genuine care she puts into her work. Thank you, Esmeralda, for all that you do! You make a big difference!
Saved My Bacon
Academic Scheduling
Academic Scheduling is always so patient and kind when we ask for help on last minute crises and situations. We rely on Isaac, Debbie and Annette so often, and they are always willing to work with us, even when it comes flying out of nowhere. Thank you to the whole team!
