Fresno State is ranked No. 6 in the nation among public and private universities for social mobility in the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2024 Best Colleges rankings published on Sept. 6.
Fresno State is one of four California State University campuses in the top 10 for providing a high-quality education at an affordable price to create opportunities for students to move from one socioeconomic class to another. About 65% of Fresno State students are the first in their families to attend college.
Fresno State also ranked No. 15 for best student experience and No. 80 among the top 400 best universities overall in the country.
“This ranking shows the power of a Fresno State degree and the work that we do at the university to prepare our students to become emerging leaders,” said President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval. “Fresno State provides world-class comprehensive higher education and is fully dedicated to serving our region and the world.
