Charles Radke, Fresno State’s dissertation/thesis consultant in the Division of Research and Graduate Studies, is retiring this month. For 20 years, Chuck has energetically served the Fresno State graduate student population in his role of reviewing and approving over 4,000 theses and dissertations. Chuck brought innovation and relevance to this role, and he was instrumental in the evolution of the submission process moving to an electronic platform.
Part of Chuck’s Fresno State legacy is that he founded the Graduate Writing Studio in 2010. This has since evolved into the Graduate Student Success Center, an invaluable resource that now incorporates not only writing and statistics help for our graduate student population, but it is now a comfortable retreat on the second floor of the Fresno State Library (replete with free coffee, comfy chairs and more).
Most recently, Chuck published his first memoir, "Stuccoville: Life Without a Net," a touching and poignant autobiographical novel about his relationship with his mother, parenting and life in the Central San Joaquin Valley.
Chuck will be starting a new role reviewing national defense research at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. Although he will be leaving Fresno State, he will always remain a loyal Bulldog.
The university will certainly miss him!
