Dr. Gina Sandi-Diaz joins the Department of Theatre Arts as an assistant professor, coming to Fresno State from the University of Kansas. Gina is an actor, director and Latinx theatre scholar from San Jose, Costa Rica. Prior to earning her doctorate, Gina was an associate professor of theatre at the Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica.

Indira Sultanić

Indira Sultanić joins the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures as an assistant professor, coming to Fresno State from Kent State University. Indira has experience teaching practice translation, advanced translation practice, medical Spanish translation and interpreting, elementary and intermediate Spanish courses at the undergraduate level as well as Computer Assisted Translation tools at the graduate level.

Amila Becirbegovic

Dr. Amila Becirbegovic joins the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures as an assistant professor, coming to Fresno State from UC Davis. Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Amila lived in Hannover, Germany, before moving to the United States. Becirbegovic was awarded the 2010 and 2009 German Excellent Teaching Award at Arizona State University.

Dr. J. Ashley Foster joins the Department of English as an assistant professor, coming to Fresno State from Haverford College in Pennsylvania. Ashley is an assistant professor of 20th- and 21st-century British literature with an emphasis in digital humanities. She received her Ph.D. in 2014 from The Graduate Center, City University of New York.

Alexander Adkins Jaramillo

Dr. Alexander Adkins Jaramillo joins the Department of English as an assistant professor, coming to Fresno State from Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he earned his Ph.D. in English. Alexander teaches courses in contemporary British and postcolonial literature, the prison-industrial complex and satire.

Dr. Vadim Keyser joins the Department of Philosophy as an assistant professor, coming to Fresno State from San Francisco State University. Vadim’s primary teaching area is the philosophy of science and his research interests include models for reliable measurement in biology, biophysics and the social sciences.
