The California Water Institute – Research and Education Division Faculty Fellows program is an interdisciplinary group aimed at bringing together faculty from diverse fields with research interests in the broad field of water. Applications are accepted from full-time faculty who are interested in developing solutions to critical water and food challenges.
Faculty Fellows will serve for one year and can annually apply for additional one-year terms. In addition to having opportunities for potential new collaborations with other faculty and staff, each Faculty Fellow will also have access and networking opportunities with regional, state, and federal water agencies, and the water and agricultural industries. There will also be opportunities for professional development through seminars, workshops, conferences, etc.
The program expects to fund at least eight Faculty Fellows per year with representation from as many schools and colleges as possible. Upon successfully completing the academic year and all deliverables, and submitting an end-of-year report, Faculty Fellows will each receive a stipend of $5,000.
Tenured, tenure-track faculty, and full-time lecturers interested in participating as Faculty Fellows for 2023-24 should submit the application form by 5 p.m. on Nov. 13. Applicants should be prepared to provide a statement of interest, a potential project description, a biographical sketch and a letter from your department chair.
