How long have you worked at Fresno State: Almost eight years as staff (I worked here for two years prior as student staff). It'll be 10 years total in October!
What is your most notable accomplishment in your field, and why was it important? I feel my most notable accomplishment has been aiding our campus with the onboarding of our (fairly) new application system, Cal State Apply. This was a large transition for the CSU system. It challenged me to learn new skills within my current position, work with staff I'd never had the opportunity to work with before, and most importantly, it has made for a more dynamic, streamlined application process for our graduate students.
What are you most passionate about in your field and why? Student assistant professional development. I was fortunate to start out as a student assistant and work for staff that really invested time in helping me learn new skills and prepare for the job market. Because of this, I take a huge interest in providing professional development training to student staff and encouraging them to take advantage of the resources provided by the Career Development Center.
What is a memorable moment you had at your job? Having students come by the office to say hello and keep me up-to-date on how their semester is going and what they are pursuing next. It means a lot to me to see how hard they work, and I feel honored to be a part of their journey.
What do you like to do for fun in your spare time? I love to travel, listen to live music, bake, and spend time with friends and family.
What is something interesting about you that most people don’t know? My dream job growing up was to become a pilot in the Armed Forces. I love to fly!
