Coming off of a 9-8 season that finished in the quarterfinal round of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Championship, the Bulldogs are ranked ninth in the 2017-18 NCEA preseason poll.

"We would have liked to be higher in the rankings as any team would," Fresno State head coach Eric Hubbard said. "We only lost two starters this year and have added some great talent to our roster. We will also have two new coaches and that brings a lot of new excitement and skill to our team."
