A key conversation is a discussion between two or more people where the stakes are high, opinions vary and emotions run strong. These conversations — when handled poorly or ignored — may lead to strained relationships and poor results. This workshop will equip you with tools to utilize during difficult conversations.
Workshop content includes:
- Review the common causes of conflict
- Explore the benefits and examples of key conversations
- Plan for an important interactions
- Learn specific steps for conducting a key conversation

CSUBUY Marketplace is a CSU system-wide initiative to streamline the purchasing and payment processes on campus. Training will review how to navigate through the CSUBUY Marketplace and how to order from the 22 vendors in the marketplace.
Breath and Health

Have you ever experienced how altering the pattern you breathe improves your state of mind? Come experience the intimate link between our breath and our emotions. During the session, we will do some light gentle stretches and guided meditation. Come prepared to leave this 50-minute virtual session afresh, anywhere you are.
Respect in the Workplace

This workshop focuses on how to create a healthy work environment that promotes mutual respect and positive working relationships. Participants will learn how to:
- Recognize characteristics of a respectful workplace
- Promote a respectful workplace among their colleagues
- Respond appropriately to disrespectful behavior

Lunch in the Garden (sponsored by the Horticulture Department)
Noon – 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, Zoom
Bring your lunch and hang out in the Horticulture Department’s beautiful courtyard just a few minutes from campus. Enjoy the peaceful (and a little rustic) setting for lunch and meet some colleagues. Sitting under the trees in our natural space brings about a sense of appreciation for nature and can be a nice reprieve from computer time. We encourage you to sit with someone you don't know, and we will have some prompts to engage in meaningful conversations around the beauty of nature.
Leading Without Authority: How to Persuade, Influence and Motivate
10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, Zoom
Successful company leaders understand that people do their best when they are motivated and treated with respect. In organizations where everyone is a leader, regardless of title or position, people share a common goal of achievement for themselves and the organization. This program teaches professionals the characteristics of leadership that inspire others. In this six-module training, participants will learn how to be more accountable, establish credibility, engage, influence others, and create a culture of communication and collaboration. This workshop is part of the CSU Cross-Campus Collaboration Series.
Information Security Awareness: Phishing, Passwords and Data Storage
2 – 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, Zoom
This workshop will discuss the various ways your Fresno State account can get compromised from phishing attempts, as well as how to deal with them. You will learn why having a strong password is very important. The team will also discuss where to keep the level 1, 2, and 3 data on your machine and in the cloud.
Assertive Communication: Leading with Confidence and Respect

Understanding how to communicate respect while asking for what you want has many benefits — it allows you to get things done while treating others fairly, negotiate mutually beneficial solutions, feel less anxious and stressed, and walk through the world with greater confidence. During this workshop, we will explore what it means to be assertive and discuss strategies for incorporating and practicing this important skill in your professional life.
