The Division of Continuing and Global Education invites faculty to submit course proposals for the 2024 Spring Intersession. Spring Intersession instruction begins on Monday, May 20, and ends on Friday, June 7. Monday, May 27, is a holiday, leaving 14 days of instruction. Please schedule all instruction and exams within the session. Classes should have 15 contact hours per instruction unit, equivalent to regular semester classes. Session grades are due on Monday, June 24.
All course proposals will be routed through AdobeSign and require the approval of your department chair and dean or associate dean. The deadline for submitting an Intersession course proposal is Friday, Jan. 19. Some offices may have earlier internal deadlines as well.
CGE will accept proposals for courses of all levels. We strongly discourage departments from submitting multiple sections of the same course, as they may compete for enrollment. We recommend departments give special consideration to classes that satisfy the following pattern of documented student needs:
- GE - Lower Division: A3, C1, C2, D1, D2, E, F
- GE - Upper Division: E, F, IB, IC
- Other: PLSI 2
NOTE: W courses are also needed for the summer 2024 term but must be scheduled as part of the state-supported summer semester.
Only one class section (three to four units) may be proposed by a faculty member during Intersession. At the direction of the faculty serving on the Writing Competency Subcommittee, UDWR courses must meet for six weeks minimum. To comply, CGE will not accept W courses in Intersession.
During Intersessions, no minimum enrollments are required to keep classes on the schedule. Each instructor will be contacted to discuss projected pay using actual enrollments under Salary Schedule 2322.
Please direct questions to Intersession Coordinator Deni Dukic at ddukic@csufresno.edu or 559.278.0423.

There will not be a self-supporting Summer Session in 2024. Outside of Spring Intersession, all summer 2024 courses for regularly enrolled students must be scheduled as part of the state-supported summer semester.
CGE will take the lead with scheduling Spring Intersession class sections in PeopleSoft. CGE will not schedule state-supported summer courses.
