She has worked at Fresno State for 22 years and currently serves as the administrative assistant to the chief of police in the Public Safety Department. We will explore highlights from her professional journey, lessons she has learned this past year and what's on her mind right now as we begin another academic year at Fresno State.
Exposing Hidden Bias

Join us for an important discussion that brings attention to the unconscious biases we all possess and provides some strategies for overcoming its impact in our work and relationships. Come learn about diversity and inclusion, how to recognize areas where unconscious bias may surface, identify strategies for avoiding bias and discuss resources available for additional learning and involvement.

Digital Nutrition

The tech genie is out of the bottle and learning to master our tech habits is a modern-day skill rarely effectively taught in schools or colleges. Digital Nutrition is about intentional and intelligent use of devices and the conscious consumption of news, media and information. Learn how to apply the Digital Nutrition philosophy and use the analogy with food to rethink the way we approach digital wellbeing. This is a positive, proactive, guilt and shame-free way to amplify the best parts of what the digital era can offer.

CSUBUY Marketplace

CSUBUY Marketplace is a CSU system-wide initiative to streamline the purchasing and payment processes on campus. Training will review how to navigate through the CSUBUY Marketplace and how to order from the 22 vendors in the marketplace.
Breath and Health

Have you ever experienced how altering the pattern of your breath improves your state of mind? Come experience the intimate link between our breath and our emotions. During the session, we will do some light gentle stretches and guided meditation. Come prepared to leave this 50-minute virtual session afresh, anywhere you are!
Impostor Syndrome

Imposter syndrome is loosely defined as doubting your abilities, lacking a sense of belonging and feeling like a fraud despite evidence otherwise. Learn about the different types of imposter syndrome, self-development strategies and how your own experience with imposter syndrome can inform creative programming to support students who experience the same thing.
Onboarding New and Reassigned Employees
1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17
Employees who move into a new position on campus benefit greatly when their onboarding experience is well-managed and meaningful. Research shows employees who are onboarded with intention and thoroughness are 70% more productive and 82% more likely to stay with their employer. This course will equip anyone with employee onboarding responsibilities with clear guidelines and best practices for onboarding new and reassigned employees.

Conflict Management Styles (Empathia EAP)

While everyone has conflict in their lives, many would just as soon avoid it. This workshop will explore ways to better manage and learn from conflict situations. Workshop content includes: Reviewing the common types of workplace conflict, assessing conflict management styles, determining the best style for use in each situation, identifying chronic conflict situations, learning how to listen and what to say when in conflict.
This session is being offered in collaboration with Fresno State's employee assistance program, LifeMatters by Empathia.
Respect in the Workplace

This workshop focuses on how to create a healthy work environment that promotes mutual respect and positive working relationships. Snapping the "Picture Perfect" Image at Home

Are you curious about how to improve your photography skills? This interactive session introduces you to the basic compositional rules of photography and provides you with tips and tricks to capturing that “picture perfect” image. Attendees will need a digital camera or mobile phone (recommended) and a way to upload or email images.
