How long have you worked at Fresno State: Two years as a student assistant and 5 years as a staff member.
What is your most notable accomplishment in your field, and why was it important? Over the years I have implemented new procedures to help keep our library collections more organized, accurate and visually appealing. As a result, library users have been able to locate items more easily. I also feel a huge sense of accomplishment when I am able to guide Fresno State students through difficult or stressful moments. Students often come to the library during their most stressful days (midterms and finals), and I love to see a student's demeanor change from overwhelmed to relieved.
What are you most passionate about in your field and why? I am the “stacks manager” for the library and I love every part of that title. I have the privilege of organizing all the books in the library and making sure they stay organized. My job directly impacts the students on this campus every day. It is my daily goal to make sure the collection looks presentable and is easy for the students to navigate through. I am very proud of what I do.
What is a memorable moment you had at your job? There are so many! Completing difficult shifting projects during intersessions, working closely with so many different people every day, and helping Fresno State students and other library users.
What do you like to do for fun in your spare time? I like to do puzzles, DIY projects, repurposing furniture, playing with my dogs Archie and Bruce, reading, watching documentaries and calligraphy/hand lettering.
What is something interesting about you that most people don’t know? I am a Disney fanatic and have been to Disneyland over 30 times.
Several years ago, I had the privilege of helping Steven Church, a faculty member on campus, copy edit his book, "One With the Tiger." That will probably be the coolest thing I ever do in my lifetime so ... thanks Steven!
