Fresno State students will be presenting their experiences with course-based high-impact practices during the High-Impact Practices Symposium on Friday, May 13. The event will be held in the Madden Library, Ellipse Gallery on the second floor.
The event gives students a chance to share their endeavors in extraordinary learning through service learning, project-based learning, undergraduate research, first-year experiences and internships. Everyone is welcome to participate in the event, with donuts for all presenters and reviewers.
Fresno State is committed to providing students with the most effective learning and development opportunities possible. Countless research studies have demonstrated that courses which engage students in hands-on, active learning projects, especially those where students apply academic content to real-world community issues, are more effective in improving student success compared to traditional lecture courses. These types of experiences are called “high-impact practices."
Students will have laptop and poster presentations they designed on display and will be presenting on their course-based projects.
