Works Above and Beyond
Shawna Blair, Student Involvement
Huge shout out to Shawna and her student team for putting in so many hours of planning and working for a successful Vintage Days event! They were small but mighty and I appreciate all their hard work!
Cynthia Hanks, Accounting Services
Cynthia understood the task involved during my time of need of a three-day deadline. Without her leadership, understanding and patience as well as the incredible team she has, I would not have been able to meet the unrealistic deadline.
Alexis Holladay, College of Science and Mathematics
During graduation season we ask our students, "Who made a huge impact in their academic journey." Year after year we always receive a flood of messages of appreciation for Alexis Holladay. She has worked as an academic advisor in the Advising and Resource Center for the College of Science and Mathematics for over seven years. She takes the time to get to know our students and gives them the right information and resources to make their undergraduate years a success. She is an unsung hero at our college.
Student Involvement
I am so proud to work with such incredible and hardworking individuals. Our Student Involvement team came together to put in their 100% best and beyond to make sure the Vintage Days event was fun and successful. I appreciate all their hard work and commitment. We may be puffy eyed and a little sleepy come Monday morning, but as all "labor of love" events like this, it is always worth it. Go team!
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Crystal Maldonado, Facilities Management
Crystal is the bright spot in anyone's day. She actively seeks to connect with every individual and has a unique talent for making others feel seen, heard and valued. In her custodial duties, she not only provides the top level of care, but goes above and beyond by engaging with the people she comes into contact with and learning what that individual is interested in. She is a star staff member, and we consider her a true part of the Human Resources Department family. As one of the first faces we see each day, she always makes us laugh and gets us started on a positive note. She is truly a pleasure to work with and our work environment would not be the same without her. Thanks for all you do, Crystal! We appreciate it more than you know.
Will Tubbs, Technology Services
Will Tubbs has always gone out of his way to provide excellent support and service to me as a faculty member assigned to work in the Peters Building. He has often assisted me with providing cameras in my classroom to allow other faculty to evaluate my teaching. He has also provided me with HDMI cables and helped me resolve technology issues I have experienced in my classroom. He has always provided help to me before my classes begin at 8 a.m. His great support has been instrumental in allowing me to offer top-notch technology support for all my assigned classes. Thank you Will! You have been very helpful to me, and I greatly appreciate your kind and very professional technology support in my classroom settings.

JoLynne Blake, Center for Faculty Excellence
Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to help us out with our little crisis. Services for Students with Disabilities Greatly appreciates your support and I know the student was grateful for your help!
Brandon McFarland, Accounting Services
I would like to recognize Brandon for saving my bacon — for his willingness and the short turnaround time he took on a special project I had. Without the speedy process and his willingness, I would not have been able to make the rest of the process run smoothly.
Rocio Quiñones Montaño, College of Social Sciences Dean’s Office
Rocio has been helping the grant project since the beginning, and we are successfully completing a mid-year report. Thank you, Rocio, for your professional work.
Victoria Walter, Facilities Management
Victoria was handed a complex task extremely last minute and handled it immediately and excellently. Her diligence and level of work ethic is greatly appreciated.
