As we officially move into May, there is a familiar energy across our campus, one that signals pure celebration. The rhythm of the academic year, with all our efforts to teach and forge the next generation of leaders, begins to culminate the moment our students walk on stage and become Fresno State alumni!
In just a matter of days, we will witness an extraordinary annual event: A defining milestone for our students who will receive their degrees, an event that will initiate the rest of their lives with the excellence of Fresno State. For us, it is a powerful reminder of why we do this work.

Our faculty, who challenge, mentor and inspire in ways that often extend far beyond the classroom.
Our staff, who create the conditions for success, quietly and with a deep care for our students and one another.
You are the steady presence that makes Fresno State a center where hopes become reality, and where students become economic leaders for our Valley and beyond.
Commencement lasts a few short days and carries the weight of years of dedication, yours included. You have answered emails late into the evening. You have advised and illuminated conversations that changed a student’s path. You have managed countless details behind the scenes. Thank you for your heartfelt investment in our mission to empower students to become economic and social leaders for our Valley!
