Pianist Francesco Piemontesi performs in the final Keyboard Concert of the 2018-19 season at 8 p.m. Friday, May 24 in the Music Building's Concert Hall.
Born in Locarno, Switzerland, Piemontesi is a protégé of Alfred Brendel, who is renowned for his musical prowess. Piemontesi rose to international prominence after winning prizes at several major competitions, including the 2007 Queen Elisabeth in Brussels. In his fast rising career he has already performed as soloist with many leading orchestras. He will be performing works by J.S. Bach, Rachmaninoff and Debussy.
