Faculty and staff recipients of the 14th annual Outstanding Advisor Awards were recognized at a reception in the University Dining Hall on Thursday, May 2. They were selected from a record number of 30 highly qualified candidates nominated by students and colleagues.
The announcement was made by Dr. Robert Harper, interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Frank Lamas, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
Each of the following award recipients received an engraved trophy, a certificate and a $1,000 stipend for professional development:
- Russell Gross, TRiO Student Support Services Veterans
- Angelica Robles-Trinh, Educational Opportunity Program
- Dr. Steven Rocca, Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education
- Dr. Jennifer Roos, Physical Therapy
The awardees went beyond typical advising duties to inspire many students to reach higher and believe in themselves by creating a welcoming and friendly space for conversation. They are an inspiration to students and colleagues alike. Congratulations!
