Soumyasanta Laha (electrical and computer engineering) received a seed grant of $15,000 from the California State University Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB). He received the award for the proposal, “Design of a noninvasive, wearable and continuous glucose monitoring working prototype using an integrated RF and photo-acoustic technique.” His was one of 23 CSUPERB New Investigator Grants approved for funding among 81 proposals in the category.
Media, Communications and Journalism assistant professor Bradley Hart was awarded a fellowship at the Council on Foreign Relations for the 2019-20 academic year. The fellowship is designed to place academic experts in policy-making environments and make their expertise available to political leaders while also providing insights to enhance their teaching, research and administrative abilities.
Hart plans to continue teaching classes and views his fellowship as an opportunity for his students to benefit from his experience. The Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the U.S. and other countries.
