Dr. Deify Law, chair and professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was elected a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, which recognizes exceptional engineering achievements and contributions to the engineering profession. Over 70,000 members make up the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, with only 3,400 recognized as fellows.
Dr. Veena Howard, chair and professor, Department of Philosophy, endowed chair in Jain and Hindu Dharma and director of the M.K. Gandhi Center: Inner Peace and Sarvodaya, was the featured speaker at The India Centre at Flame University, on March 25.
Emily Peacock, program coordinator at The Maddy Institute, recently organized and led the Institute’s Summer 2026 Internship Orientation, preparing 20 future Valley leaders as they begin summer internships in legislative offices across the Central Valley, Sacramento and Washington, D.C. Peacock has served as program coordinator since November 2024.
