Fresno State recently established the Kappa Iota Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (also known as Tri-Alpha), a national honor society for first-generation college students that provides mentorship, leadership opportunities, academic and personal resources, and promotes academic excellence.
Membership is also open to staff and faculty, so long as they were also first-generation students (a degree from Fresno State is not a requirement). Staff and faculty members will serve as mentors for undergraduate and graduate student members of Tri-Alpha, meeting with their mentee(s) twice a month to provide academic, personal and professional guidance.
Applications for Tri-Alpha membership are open now through March 31.
