Greetings Campus Community,
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we’ve all responded to the COVID-19 situation at hand. I’m proud to say that our teams and campus colleagues are pulling together in a way that is nothing short of amazing.
On a personal basis, I recognize there is much more going on with our employees than shifting to remote work and virtual meetings. Many of you have had to adjust in ways that affect your families and personal lives. Please know that we care about your health and well-being in addition to supporting your continuing work.
As we transition to having limited personnel on campus, Technology Services is preparing staff and faculty to work remotely and considering key services and resources that would help make this transition as smooth as possible. With that in mind, please take a look at the steps below to assist you in preparing for the days ahead.
Where do I start?
Human Resources has provided an electronic telecommuting agreement. After discussing with your manager, please use the online request form provided here: Telecommuting Request Form. You may contact Human Resources for additional information at 559.278.2032 or hr@csufresno.edu.
Access our Working Remotely Webpage and take a look at the checklist.
Phones may be forwarded to a home phone, cell phone, or any other phone number and voicemail can be checked remotely.
Keep your work secure.
If you don’t have a Fresno State provided laptop, you’ll need to take extra steps to ensure your work stays secure. Using a personal computer? Follow the suggested security guidelines here.
VPN will be an important tool when working remotely with personally identifiable information or some on-campus electronic resources. Refer to the VPN section of the website. This applies to both using a Fresno State-issued computer or a personal computer. If you are unable to access the VPN please contact the Service Desk for assistance at 559.278.5000.
What if I need additional supplies and equipment to work remotely?
Contact your immediate supervisor to assess the need for additional supplies and equipment to support you while you work remotely. Take a moment to mentally walk through your duties and consider all you’ll need to create an effective home work environment.
How do I obtain help?
GOOD NEWS! PASSWORD EXPIRATION DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO ONE YEAR
The majority of our staff (employees) are now enrolled in two factor authentication (DUO). This extra layer of protection has allowed us to extend the password expiration date to one year!
Due to the ambiguous nature of the coronavirus, information is changing on a moment-by-moment basis. Our plan is to keep you informed as we move along in the process.
