Last week, new students admitted for Fall 2018 arrived for their Dog Days Orientation session. The one-day Dog Day Orientation runs from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. and there is also a two-day Dog Day Orientation session as well.
During the Dog Day Orientation, new students take their photos for their Fresno State ID cards and take a tour of campus. They attend various workshops and informational sessions. Students also meet with an academic counselor, a major advisor, and register for classes.
The Dog Days Orientation sessions are required for all first-time freshmen and new transfer students who will be attending Fresno State for the first time. Dog Days are held between June and August 2018.
Traci Obata (Undergraduate Admissions) was there to capture some of the excitement.
"It’s so awesome to see brand-new faces during the Dog Days Orientation sessions each year," said Traci. "The incoming freshmen are full of life, hopes and dreams. The new students are eager to begin their higher education career at Fresno State to open their minds and obtain the knowledge needed to better their lives, their community and the world."
