The annual FOOSA Summer Orchestra Academy, led by Fresno State professor of music Dr. Thomas Loewenheim, has become one the world's foremost performers of Romantic-era music and, specifically, the expansive works of Gustav Mahler.
For two weeks each June, 25 professional musicians train and perform alongside over 100 young musicians to form the FOOSA Philharmonic, an enormous symphony orchestra perfect for bringing to life Loewenheim's stirring interpretations of Mahler's masterpieces.
