Works Above and Beyond
Nate Gapasin, Academic Resources
Nate consistently goes above and beyond in providing exceptional customer service. With many roles I support across campus, I know I can always count on him to answer questions, provide thorough training and guide me through any process with patience and expertise. No matter how busy things get, he is incredibly responsive, approachable and genuinely invested in helping others succeed. He takes the time to explain each step clearly, making even the most complex tasks feel manageable. His dedication, professionalism and positive attitude have made a tremendous difference as I've taken on a new role. Thank you, Nate, I appreciate everything you do!
Sherri Smith, Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology - Dean's office
Sherri Smith has truly been a gem and a huge support not just for me but for the college. She truly gives of her time not only to explain and help correct, but also to train for success. Yesterday I was stressing over a mistake I made, and she was so calm and helped guide me to gather as much information as I could, then go to the department with it so they could help correct the issue. Thank you, Sherri, for supporting us DAA's and helping us to feel like we can go to you for guidance and support; it means a lot, especially because I know how busy you are. Thank you, Mrs. Sherri!
Lian Vang, Undergraduate Admissions
Lian provides exceptional support, guidance, encouragement and resources to students who are returning to Fresno State. She approaches this work with care, compassion, follow-through and genuine dedication to each student's success. Returning students are not always the first population that comes to mind when we think about student support, yet they deserve the same level of attention, investment and care. Lian ensures they receive exactly that. She helps students navigate the complexities of returning to the university and creates a realistic, supportive pathway back to Fresno State — one that gives them the confidence and resources they need to be successful. Thank you, Lian, for your incredible work and unwavering commitment to our students. Your passion, thoughtfulness and dedication are making a meaningful difference in the lives of so many Bulldogs.
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Spencer Beair, Student Involvement and Student Unions
Spencer is an outstanding, hardworking and respectful person. He does a fantastic job organizing the World Cup games at the new student union, always takes the time to answer my questions and provides helpful information. I also appreciate how he consistently recognizes and praises his team and department.
Saved My Bacon!
Morgan Diemunsch, Faculty Affairs
Shortly after I started, I had to submit a 16th unit form for faculty. Unfortunately, I filled the forms out incorrectly, but I did not find out till today. Of course, I immediately panicked and was so stressed out, crying, thinking the faculty might not have been paid correctly. After speaking with Morgan in Faculty Affairs, I learned that she corrected the mistakes for me and that the faculty were paid correctly. She truly goes above and beyond not just for me but for all departments, double-checking our submissions — talk about "Saved My Bacon." Morgan is so efficient and is the true example of customer service. Fresno State needs more customer support-friendly people like Morgan on campus, especially in roles like hers, because us DAA's depend on them big time!
