As the Central Utility Plant Replacement Project (CUPR) progresses, we will provide regular updates in Campus News to keep you informed of our progress. Communications can also be found on the CUPR webpage.
- Work to install the underground distribution piping for the upgraded heating and cooling systems is underway and the contractor is making good progress. As previously communicated, this work will be contained within the construction fenced areas.
- Throughout the project, you may notice construction crews emptying large bags of white powder (Gilsulate) into the pipe trenches within the fenced areas. Gilsulate is being utilized to insulate the new upgraded water pipes. So, when you see this flour-like substance being poured into the trenches, please know that this material is needed in order to insulate the newly installed piping.
- You will also see an increased volume of trucks entering and exiting the interior of the safety fenced areas to deliver piping and equipment.
