Works Above and Beyond
Cynthia Hanks, Accounting
I should have done this LONG ago, but now I can say, beyond absolute certainty, that Cynthia deserves this High Five! There have been SO many changes taking place, especially in this last year, and most include changes in the accounting processes. I have relied on Cynthia so many times that I was sure she was sick of hearing from me. NEVER did she make me feel like I was bothering her. She always responds quickly to emails and takes the time to patiently work through issues, no matter how long it may take. She never makes you feel stupid (which I know I can be) or unimportant. She is always pleasant, kind and caring. She is a true leader, team player and an absolute joy to work with. I have nothing but the utmost respect for her and how she handles her responsibilities. The university is extremely fortunate to have her serve in the position as accounting manager.
Delia Medrano, Library
Delia is consistently helpful and prompt. She is an absolute pleasure to work with at Fresno State!
Ruth Brisco, College of Health and Human Services
Since the first day I met Ruth she has always been so welcoming and helpful. Once I started in my position whenever I had a question or asked to be shown how to complete a task, she was always there to help. Even if she did not have the answer, she went out of her way to help me find it. She has definitely made my time here so far better. Thank you, Ruth!
Dolly Huitron, Academic Resources
I have been a staff member at Fresno State for four months, and in those four months, I have had the pleasure of working with Dolly. She has trained and prepared me to be successful in my new role, has worked two positions on campus simultaneously, always without a single complaint, and with a smile and a positive outlook. Dolly is the most hardworking and kindhearted person that I know. She has, what seems, an endless fountain of knowledge and is always ready to assist and share that with those who need an extra hand. Thank you for all that you do, Dolly. I appreciate you!
Angelica Miramontes, College of Social Sciences
Angelica is an invaluable staff member at Fresno State. She is always available at any given moment when you have a question and is more than happy to explain. She is kind, hardworking and thoughtful. I know that I can be successful in my role because I have her support and knowledge. Thank you for all that you do, not only for me as a new employee, but for the College of Social Sciences. Thank you!
Christine Rotzinger, Geography and City and Regional Planning/ Africana Studies Program
Christine is new to the College of Social Sciences, and in the short time I have been here and known her, Christine has provided so much help to me with questions from travel to scheduling. She has been an employee at Fresno State for many years and she is an invaluable staff member. Thank you for all that you do and for being so kind, Christine!

University Advising Center and New Student and Family Programs
Both the University Advising Center and the New Student and Family Program have been understaffed and have still done fantastic work in 2023. They are talented, dedicated and wonderful colleagues. Thank you for all you do to support student success at Fresno State
Modeled Principles of Community
J. Daniel Gomez Martinez, Career Development Center Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment
J. Daniel Gomez Martinez assisted my son with courtesy, professionalism and honesty. He went above and beyond by counseling my son to the right path of his career development. He is truly an ambassador. Through his honesty and determination, he assisted by reaching out regarding a high-risk scam and spam that could have potentially hacked my son's back account, my account and another student bank account. Furthermore, by going above and beyond the call of duty, he acted swiftly and saved many students from being scammed. J. Daniel Gomez Martinez deserves more than a High Five for Modeled Principles of Community. He should be a called a "Hero."
