The Teacher Resource Center in the Madden Library has a classroom (the Heiskell Reading Room) available to teacher educators, which facilitates in-class use of the library's extensive collections.
During the past five years, 1,250 hands-on teaching materials and picture books have been purchased for the Heiskell Reading Room, and they have circulated 7,692 times.
The Heiskell Reading Room was made possible by a gift of $50,000 in honor of Fresno State alumna Margaret Thomas Heiskell.
