Julie Renee Moore, catalog librarian, Special Collections Research Center, had her program "Words Matter: Inclusive Cataloging in an Academic Library Consortium," selected for the 2024 American Library Association Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, June 27 through July 2. The program highlights the importance of critical cataloging, which describes library materials in inclusive language and helps library resources become more accessible to marginalized communities.
Dr. Maria Calahorra-Jimenez, Dr. Sagata Bhawani, Dr. Manideep Tummalapudi, assistant professors, Department of Construction Management, were highlighted by the Associated General Contractors of America Education and Research Foundation for their case study titled "Strategies for Implementing Diversity and Inclusion on a Construction Site." This was also in collaboration with industry partner Jorge Quezada of Granite Construction.
The case study addresses the selection of diversity and inclusion strategies in the development of a hiring program for a construction project and the development of a community engagement program. Click here to download a free copy of the case study.
