What began as a “bold idea” in the 2017 Bold Ideas Challenge has now come to fruition in Fresno State’s newest employee recognition program — High Five. Click here to read about how the program began.
High Fives are easy to give — simply go to the High Five website on the Organizational Excellence webpage, click “Give a High Five” and fill out the form to send kudos to anyone on campus. Goes Above & Beyond
Azucena Gutierrez, Office of Institutional Effectiveness
Azucena is always so kind to everyone who comes to the fourth floor of the library. She is always willing to go above and beyond when she lends a hand and points me and others in the right direction. She was very helpful when I started working here on the fourth floor as I was new to this area. She would guide me and help me when I needed it the most. She is such a valuable employee to have in Academic Affairs!
Courtney Meinhold, Center for Irrigation Technology (CIT)
Courtney is always willing to go above and beyond for her team. Her attention to detail shows in our events and everything we do.
Meredith Jenkins, Athletics
Is always there when we need her. Selfless and genuinely cares about her staff and our department.
Yvette Angeles, Advancement Services
Yvette is always so courteous and professional on the phone. She keeps things light, is always "on-point." In particular with the State of the University, Yvette is always making sure we are communicating early and often to stay on the same page. I really enjoy working with her and she adds great value to the team here at Fresno State.
Samer Sarofim, Business Management
Samer has been crushing it as the leader of our committee on undergraduate programs. He puts everything online, removing a lot of waste in the process and he's always on top of his game. Nice work, Samer!
Amilia Henkel, Athletics Business Office
While the ABO office has been short-staffed, Amilia has been consistently stepping up to help out and we appreciate it.
Robert Chase, Technology Services
Robert has been steadfast with ensuring the computer upgrades to M232. When needed, he has attended the classroom's needs outside of regular hours. He has been prompt in addressing issues and efficient in solving them, which is no small feat given the room is generally booked full with classes. On more than one occasion, he stayed past regular work hours to aid a new faculty member in becoming acquainted with the changed platform in the room.
Grace Manly, Center for Irrigation Technology (CIT)
Grace Manly goes above and beyond to help not only our members and customers but her colleagues. She can be leaned on for ANY and ALL projects and is a go-to in times of need. Her dedication to Fresno State's Water, Energy and Technology Center and helping its members with their individual needs is inspiring.
Will Tubs, CSB Technology Services
Always going above and beyond for the myriad technical needs and issues that crop up.
Amilia Henkel, Athletics Business Office
Amilia is an excellent resource and support. As a part of the ABO, she has gone above and beyond as a team player and I would just like this opportunity to say THANK YOU.
Fernando Parra, Craig School Institute for Family Business
Fernando did a terrific job jumping into rebuilding a program with gusto and bravado. He exemplifies BOLD!
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Robert Chase, Technology Services
He has provided positive, courteous and respectful interactions with technology problems for my classes. He has been very sympathetic to student needs, understanding the importance of quick resolutions. He is agreeable to problem solving and finding creative solutions. He is very open to questions and concerns. I have never felt any trepidation with asking for his help.
Grace Manly, Center for Irrigation Technology (CIT)
Grace is the lead on communications with all of our in-house residents and is the first face they see when they walk into our facility. Grace makes sure all members' and clients' needs are met. If she cannot do the specific task she will make sure to connect you with the person who can.
Will Tubs, CSB Technology Services
Always providing friendly, informative assistance despite high demands
Dawn Moate, Mathematics
Dawn helped me tremendously in assisting me in acquiring a much needed lab for our criminology department.
Cathy Legarretta, Human Resources
As a new employee and navigating the different leave benefits for pregnancy, I felt overwhelmed, but all of the assistance and guidance Cathy provided made the process so much easier. Cathy really goes above and beyond to provide the different leave options and the color coordinating of different leave types on the payroll calendar is extremely helpful.
Mike Nourian, Plant Operations
Mike's the best and always gets the job done right.
Catherine Kuchar, Craig School of Business Advising Center
Catherine is an incredible resource in the Craig School. She seems to know more about our programs than anyone and is always available to help move us in the right direction.
Jim Ray and David Dennis, Plant Operations
Jim and David came to the Smittcamp Alumni House to provide touch up and new paint in our offices on the second floor. They did their work during normal business hours and after hours (weekend). They were so great to work with as they were courteous in how they did their work during our normal business hours so as to create as little disruption as possible. They also did a great job on all of the work they did. I also really appreciated how they explained things to us on how to prevent paint from chipping/getting rubbed off, etc. I appreciated the education.
There are a lot of staff at Fresno State who play important roles "behind the scenes," sometimes working weekends, nights, etc. Because of the kind of work they do, they often go unnoticed, or the work they do unobserved. It’s really great to get to know them and to see the valuable work they do and the role they play.
Saved My Bacon!
Grace Manly, Center for Irrigation Technology (CIT)
Grace has saved my bacon many times. I can count on her for any event, to show up early for setup, to leaving late for the take down. Grace helps with anything I (or our team) asks or needs of her.
Will Tubs, CSB Technology Services
He's saved my bacon, metaphorically speaking, with issues small and large.
Emily Marshall, Continuing and Global Education
Emily helped me with my passport renewal and she made sure I filled out the forms right and made sure I got to my next meeting on time.
Models the Principles of Community
Will Tubs, CSB Technology Services
He's kind, respectful, etc.
Bee Yang, Department of Social Work Education
Bee (Cher Teng Yang) is kind and supportive of his colleagues and friends. Many times, I've witnessed him giving his time and talents to others without expecting anything in return. He is positive and sensitive to different ideas and thoughts. It is people like him that makes Fresno State a great. He inspires me and others to do more.
