Dr. Ranjit Riar, assistant professor, Department of Plant Science, was selected as a Western Region Certified Crop Advisers honorarium recipient for his teaching, research efforts, plant science club mentorship and industry collaboration. A faculty member since the fall of 2018, he teaches classes related to crop productivity, physiology of cultivated plants, range ecology and management and row crops. His areas of expertise and research interests are tied to alfafa salinity, cotton, cereal, cover and forage crops, sorghum, tillage practices and other areas.
