The Latina/o Faculty and Staff Association is excited to announce plans for a new series of Pláticas that shed light on issues and experiences impacting Latina/o/x and historically marginalized students, staff, faculty and broader communities on and off the Fresno State campus.
We will kick off our series Sept. 12 alongside National Hispanic Serving Institution week. This will include a discussion on the history and significance of Hispanic Serving Institutions, a Q&A on the national Seal of Excelencia distinction recently awarded to Fresno State, and reflections on what this recognition means for the current and future identity of the University.
Upcoming Pláticas in fall 2022 and spring 2023 will explore issues related to staff professional development (October 2022), student success (spring 2023), and faculty recruitment and retention (spring 2023).
All are welcome!
Date: Monday, Sept. 12
