Often referred to as the “Century of Genocides,” the 20th century is marked by the tragic destruction of several human groups. Three of these genocides will be highlighted in the upcoming Genocides of the 20th Century exhibition at the Henry Madden Library: the Armenian Genocide, the Holocaust, and the Rwandan Genocide. The analysis of their similarities and differences allows for a better understanding of how these horrific events were able to unfold.
The exhibition, sponsored by the Madden Library and the Armenian Studies Program, will be free and open to the public during regular Library Hours from September 1, 2018 through October 31, 2018.
A free reception will be held at the Library on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Learn more and RSVP at http://library.fresnostate.edu.
This international traveling exhibit was designed, created and distributed by Mémorial de la Shoah in Paris; it will be displayed at the Library in partnership with Fresno State’s College of Arts & Humanities, College of Social Sciences, the Jewish Studies Program, SNCF, the Consulate of France in San Francisco, and the French Embassy in the United States.
