Seng Vang, lecturer, Asian American Studies, was recently interviewed as an expert in Hmong history and culture for the CW show Mysteries Decoded, season 2, episode 5, "Sleep Demons."

Dr. Qiao-Hong Chen, professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and her students took part in an "Unforgettable Summer Research" at Princeton. Together, they paired up with Princeton faculty and embedded in labs, group meetings, and workshops to complete a short summer research collaboration.

Dr. Mohan Dangi, professor, Environmental Science and Engineering, presented "Global Tools and Techniques to Manage Local Solid Waste Problems: Social, Cultural, and Economic Impediments".

Dr. Dermot Donnelly-Hermosillo, associate professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, co-wrote Chapter 4: Impacts of the STEM Teacher and Researcher (STAR) Program on Teachers, Students, and Classrooms in the book "Research in Practice: Preparing and Retaining K-12 STEM Teachers in High-Need School Districts" for the American Association for the Advancement of Science [AAAS].

Candace Egan, professor, Media, Communications and Journalism, was named a 2022 Feature Contest quarterfinalist for her work, "Ladies Club" by CineStory.

Dr. Brooke Findley, associate professor, Communicative Sciences and Deaf Studies was named the director for District 5 [2021-23] of the California Speech Language Hearing Association.

Alcidia Freitas Gomes, executive director of Ag One Foundation and senior director of development, Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, was named one of the Marjaree Mason Center's 2022 Top Ten Professional Women honorees. She will be honored at the 39th Annual Top Ten Professional Women and Leading Business Awards on Thursday, Oct. 14 at the Save Mart Center.

Dr. Hovannes Kulhandjian, associate professor, electrical and computer engineering, was invited to speak at the 10th International Conference on Computer and Communications Management, held in Japan, to discuss his past and current research on Intelligent Transpiration Systems.

Dr. T. Hasan Johnson, associate professor, Africana Studies, was a recent guest on The Judge Joe Brown Show.

Michelle Perez, recruitment counselor, Admissions and Recruitment, will give a webinar presentation, "The Secret Ingredient to SEM Success: Belonging," for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers at 2 p.m. Aug. 17.

​This summer, three Fresno State students participated in research projects in UC Davis laboratories through the Fresno State–UC Davis Bridges to Doctorate Program.
