Political science associate professor Dr. Nataliia Kasianenko will host a presentation about the current war in the Ukraine 10 to 11:30 a.m Monday, April 7, at the Library, Room 3212.
The free event is open to the public and will explore recent war developments, prospects for peace with Russia, and global ramifications. The talk will focus on the Ukrainian perspective, what citizens are willing to endure, and life for those fighting on the front lines and civilians still living in the country.
Kasianenko, a native of the Ukraine, is an expert on comparative politics and international relations. Her research has focused on nationalism, identity politics and human rights in Eastern Europe countries and the former Soviet Union.
She graduated from Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine with a degree in economics, her master's degree in international relations from Fresno State then received her Ph.D. from University of Nevada, Reno.
The event is part of a weekly series through May featuring faculty from the College of Social Sciences.
