Lisa Maria Boyles, current communications specialist for the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH), will assume the position of Public Information Officer in University Communications, effective May 1. She will fill the shoes of Tom Uribes, who retired in December after performing the role since 2000.
Before joining CAH in June 2016, Lisa did communications, media strategy and social media with Granville Homes as part of the homebuilder’s marketing team.
She also worked at The Fresno Bee for almost 19 years, working her way up from reporting and editing positions for The Bee’s community publications while completing her MCJ degree at Fresno State. In 1999, she became a copy editor and page designer on The Bee’s news copy desk. She finished her journalism career as an associate editor with the Editorial Board from 2006 to 2012.
"As PIO for the University, Lisa will work closely with fellow communications specialists in the colleges and schools, faculty, administrators and students," said Patti Waid, director of University Communications. "She’ll be the 'go to' liaison between reporters and our campus stakeholders."
