In this video message, distributed on April 24, Provost Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval briefly shares his thoughts on the power and beauty of poetry before you enjoy watching the stunning beauty of our campus in the spring, which so many of us are missing these days.
As an added boost, and in celebration of National Poetry Month, the video footage is set to the mesmerizing music of renowned saxophonist, composer and music professor Benjamin Boone (from “The Poetry of Jazz, Vol. 1”) and a reading of “Our Valley,” written by the late professor emeritus Philip Levine.
May you enjoy this beautiful blend of music, poetry and campus scenery!
