The Library is excited to announce that Dr. Kate Manne (katemanne.net) will be the speaker for the 2025 Womack Lecture, scheduled for Monday, April 21. Manne is an associate professor of the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University and the author of "Down Girl: The Logic of Misogyny", "Entitled: How Male Privilege Hurts Women," and "Unshrinking: How to Face Fatphobia." Her Womack lecture is entitled “Ordinary Cruelty: Explaining Misogyny Without Dehumanization.”
All are welcome at the day's events, which will take place in the Table Mountain Rancheria Reading Room on the Library's 3rd Floor North.

- 6 - 7 p.m. Lecture.
- 7 - 7:30 p.m. Book signing.
All three of Manne’s books are available to borrow through the Fresno State Library, and her books will be available for purchase at the evening event with cash or check. These events are free and open to the public. The Womack Lecture is presented in partnership with the Department of Philosophy and is named for late librarian emeritus, Prentise J. Womack.
