The Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative at Fresno State invites high school and college students, teachers and their families to the STEM Expo 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Science II courtyard and garden.
The event is open to the public, but registration is required. Parking is free in lot P6 or P15.
The community-centered event, which includes over a dozen STEM booths, food trucks and shows at the Downing Planetarium, aims to cultivate the next generation of STEM educators and celebrate STEM teachers who make a difference.
Workshops include:
- Chemistry Workshop with Dr. Fred Nelson, 10-11 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.-12:10 p.m. at Science II, Room 118
- How to Stop a Disease with Math and Data with Dr. Mario Banuelos, 10-11 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.-12:10 p.m. at Science II, Room 125
- Paper Cutting and Geometry with Dr. Yao Lu, 12:20-2:20 p.m. at Science II, Room 125
- Coding for All with Dr. John English, 12:20-2:20 p.m. at Science II, Room 118
Attendees will enjoy hands-on activities and demonstrations in robotics, AI, drones, biochemistry and more while learning how to turn their STEM passions into a career in teaching. A dedicated teacher pathway and retention hub will offer quick advising on credentials and authorizations, information on scholarships and supports, sign-ups for follow-up advising and a welcoming space for teacher appreciation and peer networking.
