Advancing Justice through Ethnic and Gender Studies”
Dr. Lee-Oliver shares the core tenets of Decolonial theory and Third World consciousness that led to the development of the Third World College, today known as Ethnic Studies. Dr. Lee-Oliver shows how Ethnic and Gender Studies emerge as frameworks for Decoloniality where critical thinking, biopolitics, and place-based learning make way for emerging social justice leaders.

“Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Agribusiness”
Technologies of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) have been widely applied in many different areas of our economy in the most recent decade. In agriculture, computer vision and intelligence decision making are the two most important functions that big data and AI can contribute to promote productivity and efficiency. From the perspective of economics, California sees both huge opportunities and challenges in developing agricultural big data and AI technologies, which highlights the importance of education for the future of the Ag sector.
