Free to Learn: Best Practices for Supporting Formerly Incarcerated Students at Fresno State
Presented by Dr. Emma Hughes, this seminar will introduce participants to Project Rebound, the support program for formerly incarcerated students on campus. Faculty, staff, and students associated with Project Rebound will discuss services the program provides and lead discussion on the common difficulties that justice-involved students experience. The session will focus on identifying best practices for increasing inclusivity, encouraging educational success and reducing the stigma these students may face.

The program provides participants with a greater understanding of how we can and why we should work together to continue building a strong and inclusive Fresno State community. Participants will also have an opportunity to reflect on their learning through writing, art, music and/or other forms of expression.
