Join the Student Health and Counseling Center in recognition of National Suicide Prevention Week from Sept. 9 to 13.
During the week, 1,100 yellow ribbons will be on display near the Memorial Gardens to represent the number of college students lost to suicide each year. The display will include positive messages and resource information.
World Suicide Prevention Day is on Tuesday, Sept. 10. On this day, we invite all members of the campus to wear yellow to help raise awareness of this important issue. To show your support, post a picture of yourself wearing yellow and tag @FSHealthPAWS in your post.
Members of the campus community can also sign up to attend a Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) suicide prevention training. The QPR training is open to all Fresno State students, staff and faculty. Times and dates are 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 in the Henry Madden Library Room 2206 and 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 in the Student Health and Counseling Center large conference room.
